The S58 Platform: What It Means for Parts
The G80 M3 launched in 2021 on the CLAR platform — a significant departure from the F80's CLAR-light structure. The switch from 5×120 to 5×112 bolt pattern (shared with Audi and Mercedes) opened up a much broader wheel fitment market. The S58 engine produces 473 hp in standard tune and 503 hp in Competition — generating braking forces that pushed BMW to spec Brembo yellow 6-piston calipers as standard equipment on Competition models.
The seat mounting architecture is shared between G80, G82, and G87 — a major advantage for parts interchangeability. BMW M3 G80 carbon racing seats and G82 M4 competition seats use an identical rail and harness geometry, so G80 bucket seats drop directly into the G87 M2 and vice versa. This cross-model compatibility is verified and documented in our listings.
