The G82 M4 is BMW's flagship 2-door M car — higher optioned than the G80 M3 and more track-oriented than the M8. The Competition package is standard on all G82 models sold in the US market, meaning every G82 comes with the 503 hp S58, Brembo yellow 6-piston brakes, and the adaptive M suspension as factory equipment.

G82 Competition Seats vs M4 CSL Seats

The standard G82 Competition seat uses a full carbon fiber shell with Merino leather center panels and M tricolor stitching. The M4 CSL (2022) seat is lighter — a full carbon monocoque with minimal padding and no power adjustment. For a street car, the Competition seat is the right choice: it retains side airbags, power adjustment, and heating. For a dedicated track build, CSL-spec seats represent the ultimate BMW factory lightweight option.
